Walking around the local Stavanger waterfront

Today was cool - 50 degrees or so - with wind and occasionally heavy rain and the brief sun. Bjorg did not call, so no trip to Old Stavanger, instead Jorunn and I walked along the waterfront near her house. Just like home, when you find shelter from the rain, it stops.

The pictures with chain link fence are plots in the community gardens. Unlike community gardens in the US, people can live part of the year in the small huts (cottages) on their rented plot.

Another picture shows the local swimming beach. You can see the drop off point for recyclables and the postman on two of the pictures. The rest of the pictures are of regular local homes or the waterfront, except the box of chocolates, brought by a friend of Jorunn's from Krakow Poland. They were as delicious as they are beautiful.

Maybe tomorrow I'll either see Old Stavanger with Bjorg or see the Svithins Craft Workshop with Jorunn.
