My iPhone battery has been dying after a few hours, I think it's a sign from God that I need a 4S. Thommas has been kind enough to share his camera with me, and he also took some photos of Bergen while I was with the coverlets. It took some creativity to get them from his camera to my iPhone, which is where I blog from, but we succeeded and I can share more pictures of Bergen. Yay! I will do a separate blog about the ferry/car trip home since I still can't figure out how to upload pictures in a specific order.
All the pictures here are from Thommas, in Bergen. I've photoshopped the nighttime pictures so you can see the wooden houses and walkways that are now restaurants and shops. You can see the picnic tables set out for anyone to use, but it was too dark and cold that night.
In the morning, before we left, we visited the waterfront fish market (Norwegian speaking lobsters!) and got a fish cake snack to go. Yum! There was also a shop that sells bunads, the traditional dress of Norway. The detail shot is of Hardanger, the embroidery/cutwork technique used for the aprons. It is also widely used for other decorative textiles.
