Museums Part 2 - Breidablikk

Next we drove a short distance to Breidablikk, the best preserved of Norway's villas. It has an authentic 1880s interior and features many local artist's work, collected by the Berentsen family. They had the biggest shipping and herring business in town. The home is built in the Swiss style with touches of gothic and romantic influence.

With a few exceptions, the house has stayed just as it was built and originally decorated. They did add a veranda and dormer windows on the garden side in 1906 and later a bomb shelter just before WW2.
