Getting from Bergen to Stavanger

As I said in an earlier blog, it takes some driving and 2 ferries to get from Stavanger to Bergen. Here are some pictures of the return trip.

Norway has lots of rotaries along streets and highways, and because of one of them we took a more creative route home, through Fana. To get back to E39, we drove on a narrow, one lane road around a lake. Luckily we only met 2 cars coming the other way and all drivers were skilled in this sort of negotiation.

I love the boat houses on the water's edge, and the islands along the ferry-way are so pretty, even from a Mainer's perspective.
